3 Wellness Switches to make this year

Although many people may roll their eyes at resolutions, I think they’re the perfect way to embrace the re-setting of the calendar. 

If they make you feel good, embrace them. If they don’t, leave them behind. It’s all about finding what works for you. 

However you choose to approach this year though, I would like to encourage you to infuse it with a little bit more wellness. That doesn’t mean you have to book in 20 spa days or a massage every weekend (although that would be very very nice!). There are simple switches that you can make, which take little time, but have a big impact.

1. Reach for low or no alcohol 

Don’t give up on me here! I’m not telling you to completely cut out your weekend glass of red. However, there’s little denying that alcohol just isn’t best for our health. To name one major issue, it suppresses melatonin. This is the hormone that promotes sleep and regulates your circadian rhythm. By drinking regularly, your shut eye is probably being more affected than you think - And worse sleep means that you’re not able to make the most of your day-to-day. 

However, the UK seems to be waking up to the fact that there are some great alcohol-free options out there. In fact, in the last 5 years low-alcohol and no-alcohol beer sales have almost doubled.

2. Take exercise, outside
